KYW Philly Soccer Show: The Union at training camp

After last week’s tumultuous events concerning the departures of Sebastien Le Toux and Faryd Mondragon from the Philadelphia Union, and the cancellation of the WPS season, this week’s installment of the Philly Soccer Show podcast slows down the pace with a look at the Union as they begin training camp in Orlando.

In part one, your co-hosts—KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch—discuss the newest member of the Union, the Colombian forward Lionard Pajoy. Also discussed is the welcome return to the club of Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Keon Daniel.

In part two, the discussion turns to the Union’s goalkeeper situation. Zac MacMath has been joined in camp by sometime Union member Chase Harrison as well as the well-traveled Chris Konopka. With MacMath likely to miss significant time with the team at the Olympics, is the general lack of MLS experience withing the club’s goalkeeper corps a matter of concern?

The pod wraps up with a needlessly sarcastic look at the ups and downs of the England National Team after its coach, Fabio Capello, resigned on Wednesday.

  1. Take major issue with how you guys talked about Terry. Listen to the Men in Blazers (www.meninblazers.com) podcasts to give you some idea about why Hart should not be captain, why Terry is so important for England, etc. etc. Then make your opinion; but sounded like you don’t really care: so don’t give opinions.

    • These guys clearly don’t have a clue. I doubt either of them have ever played at anything above intra-mural level. They are both talking out of their behinds.

      Just pathetic.

  2. Josh Kensington says:

Terry’s a jerk. And I don’t care how England manages to underperform at the Euro.
