Nowak calls out Union, other news

Union

Peter Nowak says Sunday’s 2-0 loss to D.C. United was Philadelphia Union’s “worst performance” of the season. We agree.

Recaps from Sunday’s loss to D.C. United:

Fred makes SI.com’s list of most overpaid MLS players. Sebastien Le Toux makes the list of most underpaid, as did Philly native Dan Gargan. Hard to disagree with any of that.

Independence

The Inquirer has a feature on the Independence’s Danesha Adams.

U.S.

Bob Bradley diplomatically says he wants the Aston Villa job, which might be a bit more available after they got demolished 6-0 by Newcastle.

International

Thanks to that big Newcastle win, Joey Barton is shaving his awesome porn mustache. Ron Jeremy feels less threatened, but Magnum PI better watch out for Heath Pearce’s threat to the pantheon of memorable staches.

Kevin Davies has given up on making the English national team. Why this is even news I have no idea, but I felt like magnifying a non-story even further.

The silliness of France’s World Cup just never ends, as new coach Laurent Blanc criticizes the recent suspensions of several players. Seriously, this is like the gift that just keeps on giving. Does France have a good sketch comedy show?

Ivory Coast has hired a new head coach. They’ll probably fire him right before the next World Cup.

One Comment

  1. It’s not that Kevin Davies should be on England… it’s that he has been doing what Emile Heskey was asked to do for YEARS and done it WELL. All he does is bash people with his body and knock flighted balls down to teammates.

He should get a call up long before Emile or Carlton Cole get anything.
