    • That has to be a pretty tough call for the kid. The pressure on playing for Mexico must be something since his club is Monterrey.

  1. Without any new club-transforming signings, are there really any “Must-See” Union matches, yet? If at all, ever?

    Slowly.(quickly).Losing.Hope.

  2. The Gorgon Mirror says:

talk show on Sirius yesterday ….’and the Philadelphia Union are not even worth discussing.’

  3. It’s nice we have the schedule out, now we need some players. I will not be fooled this year by cardboard cut outs!

  4. Nick Fishman says:

Atlanta, not satisfied with upgrading to MLS 3.0, is upgrading their own upgrades.
    .
Miguel Almiron was Almiron 1.0. Ezequiel Barco is Almiron 2.0.

  5. Trust the Process. Ooops. Wrong sport.

I am sure that there MUST be something cooking. There must be, There needs to be.

Put the link in there. It should work.

    • It’s good to have the academy kids doing decently. That can’t be a reason to NOT sign people though. Especially when Curtis doesn’t and won’t play them. “You’ll definitely see that at some point in one of our preseason games” is not a big defInitive statement. Imagine how much better Najem and Fontana would do watching and playing/practicing with a real life #10 and there was competition. Also, 20 years old is not 16. They should very obviously belong and be pushing for real minutes. Of course that would also depend on having a coach who switches it up sometimes.

      • Curtin has played the youth a decent amount though. Really the only one who probably should have played more was Jones and he was blocked by 2 of our best players. That’s just poor roster construction than anything.

      • In my book youth is U-21. Union ranked 14th in the league in U-21 min played. 702 min, D. Jones.

        #1 RSL- 6819 min played, 6 players
        #5 Atlanta- 1710 min played, 3 players

    • Somewhat good news but how many of the 12 are the real deal who will actually make a difference and will bring us far into the play-offs in say 3-5 years. Wait; how many will actually stay at the Union since they can currently go elsewhere with just a stoke of a pen. Note also that currently only 1 is on a YNT.

Have absolutely no regret that I did not renew.

Jay Simpson is Rais M’Bolhi 2.0 in a 3.0 world.

    • Not even close. M’Bolhi was a cancer. And almost single-handedly dashed the team’s playoff hopes in 2015 during that howler of a match against Columbus. I don’t see how anyone can feel they know much about Simpson’s game when he’s barely gotten a look at the pitch since arriving here last year. Get the man a #10 and some wingers who can thread a pass. I don’t hold his performance against him at all thus far.
