In pictures: 2017 Philly Unity Cup

The festivities began with a game featuring the Union’s youth teams.

Up next, the third place match, where Jamaica topped Puerto Rico 2-0. 

Twenty-five people representing twenty-one countries had a night they will never forget, as they became naturalized citizens.

Mayor Jim Kenney welcomes the newest members of the Philadelphia community.

The Parade of Nations followed the naturalization ceremony. Representatives from each of the participating countries proudly marched their flags past the crowd.

And then there were two… Liberia and Sierra Leone compete in the final.

… fans rejoice.

Down at halftime, but not out.

At halftime one nation from each group was recognized for their fair play throughout the tournament.

The equalizer. 1-1.

Liberia score a second not long after the first. 2-1.

Full time. Liberia completes the comeback to win the second annual Unity Cup.

Time to celebrate…

    The organizers were nice enough to allow my big camera in (very unusual for an NFL stadium) but I was shooting from about 12 rows back
