KYW Philly Soccer Show: Andre Blake

He’s made history and he hasn’t even stepped on the field yet.

In the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with Philadelphia Union rookie Andre Blake, who earlier this month became the first goalkeeper ever to be taken first overall in the MLS SuperDraft.

Blake talks about his experience on draft day and competing with fellow goalkeeper Zac MacMath for the starting job.

Then Greg and Eli review some the team’s recent signings.

The Union have had a busy off season, with three major acquisitions — midfielders Cristian Maidana, Maurice Edu, and Vincent Nogueira, the last two coming this week.

Greg and Eli discuss where these three players will fit and how this affects other players on the squad.

  1. Just an FYI Maidana is not pronounced Madonna. It is more MY-dah-nah

    • Thanks. That’s why I was trying to stick to “Chaco” as much as I could. I’m saying that wrong too I’m sure…

  2. Andre Blake is one of the most popular soccer player in the world. He deserve the credit that was given to him. I’m one
