Philadelphia’s largest amateur adult soccer league kicks off its spring season Saturday with 17 matches inside the city.

The Casa Soccer League opens its eighth year Saturday, with 46 teams in four divisions competing for promotion and more. This year’s league championship game could be played at PPL Park in Chester under a deal with new league partner Philadelphia Union, Casa President Ryan Pine said.

On Saturday, Segunda and Tercera Division games will take place at the Philadelphia Soccer Club, while the entry level division, Abierto, will play its games at Parkwood. Game times are 8:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m., noon, 1:45 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. For a full schedule, click here.

The league’s top division, Primera, opens play March 23 at YSC in Wayne, with league champs KS Cracovia playing its first match against perennial contender Philly Soccer Firm. This year marks the first season that a division will regularly play games outside Philadelphia city limits.

Five new teams have joined the league, which was started in 2006 and grew to four divisions and more than 40 teams in just three years. League officials have spent the last few years improving Casa’s field situation, launching a winter league, and establishing a broader network of partnerships, such as the one with Philadelphia Union.

  3. Cracovia is still the class of the league. I would know. We’ve lost to them in 2/3 finals over the last couple of seasons.

  4. I guess i missed signups this time around. When do they start up again?
