Temple’s Jared Martinelli was named Rookie of the Week by the Philadelphia Soccer 6 and the Atlantic 10 while junior Jake Lister was named Philadelphia Soccer 6 Player of the Week. Together they led the Owls to the  No. 3 position in the Atlantic 10 with a 2-0-0 conference record and a No. 10 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic region by the NSCAA.

The Owls earned their first 2012 conference win 2-1 in overtime against St. Bonaventure on Friday. The Bonnies struck first, scoring in the 3rd minute. The Owl’s Ryan Bradbury responded in the 65th minute to tie the game. Jake Lister scored in the 100th minute to end the match and secure the win for Temple. The Owls beat Duquesne 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Ambler Sports Complex. Jake Lister put the Owls ahead with a goal off an assist from Jared Martinelli in the 38th minute. The Dukes responded with an equalizer minutes into the second half. Martinelli scored the game winner off a Lister assist in the 82nd minute.

Villanova’s John Fogarty earned 2 clean sheets and was named the Big EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and Philadelphia Soccer 6 Defensive Player of the Week. The Wildcats went home with the team’s second Big East tie on Wednesday after a scoreless match at Saint John’s. Villanova traveled to Chicago on Saturday to pick up their first 2012 conference win against DePaul. Sophomore Hayden Harr scored at the 79th minute off an assist from Sean Sheridan to earn the 1-0 victory. Villanova is ranked No. 6 in the Northeast region by the NSCAA and No 6 in the Big EAST with a 1-0-2 conference record.

La Salle’s John McCarthy has made 59 saves and has allowed only 8 goals this season earning the 4th best save percentage in NCAA Division 1. The Explorer’s junior goalkeeper led his team to a 1-0 win in overtime on Friday night at McCarthy Stadium. Junior Jidell Roach scored the game-winning goal against Fordham in the 97th minute. La Salle is ranked No. 7 in the Mid-Atlantic region by the NSCAA and No. 4 in the Atlantic 10 with a 1-0-0 conference record.

Drexel sits atop the Colonial Athletic Association in first place after splitting a pair of games last week at Vidas field. The Dragons dropped Wednesday evening’s match 1-2 against Northeastern despite a goal from sophomore Fabio Machado in the final minute of the game. The Dragons bounced back on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 shutout against the UNCW Seahawks in front of 458 fans. Drexel saw second half goals from Ken Tribbett and Nathan Page. Drexel is ranked No. 8 in the South Atlantic region by the NSCAA.

Saint Joseph’s is off to a rough start with a 0-2-0 Atlantic 10 conference record. The Hawks dropped Friday night’s home match to Duquesne 2-1 despite an early lead created by sophomore Alex Critzos and 9 saves from goalkeeper Andrew D’Ottavi. D’Ottavi wasn’t as lucky on Sunday, saving only 1 of the Bonnies 5 shots on goal. The Hawks saw goals from Alex Critzos and Tim Lazorko, but fell 4-2 to Saint Bonaventure at Finnesey Field.

Penn is 0-2 in Ivy League play after a 0-1 loss to Columbia on Saturday.
