US Men to play Mexico at the Linc on Aug. 10

The U.S. Men’s National team will come to Philadelphia to play a friendly against Mexico on August 10th.

Mexico came from two goals down to defeat the US in the Gold Cup final on June 25th.

There is no love lost between these rivals, and Tim Howard’s complaint after the Gold Cup that the post-match awards ceremony was only in Spanish only adds fuel to the fire. While the match is only a friendly, that is surely a misnomer. A win would go a long ways toward helping the US put the devastating Gold Cup loss behind them.

The big question on the minds of US fans is who will be the coach when the team takes the field. Bob Bradley has received paltry support from US Soccer brass. And while some players have rallied behind the under-fire coach, Bradley clearly is teetering on the brink of losing the locker room.

Plenty of interesting story lines as the team prepares to take on their arch-rivals in just over a month.
