KYW podcast: USASA cup in Philly, Union review

USASA hall of famer Werner Fricker, Jr. joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Dan Walsh on this week’s podcast to talk about this weekend’s USASA Amateur Cup finals being held at the United German Hungarian club in Oakford, Pa. (For a schedule of the Friday and Sunday games and directions, check our events calendar.) The event is being held in the Philadelphia area to commemorate the 100th anniversary of UGH, a two-time U.S. Open Cup finalist and one of American amateur soccer’s giants, with five appearances in the National Amateur Cup including two wins.

Greg and Dan also talk about the Union, their recent trade for midfielder Justin Mapp, and a look at how the club has performed up to this midseason break.

  1. Great podcast Dan/Greg. It is going to be interesting over the next few weeks to see what happens with Fred/Moreno now that Mapp and Coudet are here. Do you guys think that they will really make any more signings? With 2 expansion drafts happening this fall and the Union only able to protect 11 players it would be a shame for a new a person to be lost or if we lose someone like Torres, Jacobson, or even Jack.
