Although Bill Shankly's love of the 1963 Gerry and the Pacemakers version is what led to its adoption by Liverpool, "You'll Never Walk Alone" is a Rodgers And Hammerstein song that originally comes from the 1945 musical "Carousel." In the Pink Floyd song "Fearless" from their album "Meddle" (my second favorite Pink Floyd record), a recording of the Kop singing the song plays throughout. Pretty awesome, and I don't even like Liverpool.
